Tanker Collides with Three Homes in Odisha

In Muniguda town of Rayagada district, at least 10 individuals narrowly escaped injury when a tanker crashed into three houses on Sunday. The incident occurred around 5 am when the tanker, transporting bauxite ore powder from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh to Jharsuguda, lost control. The vehicle veered off the road, overturned, and collided with the homes near the Kanak Parameswari temple.

The force of the impact caused the walls of the houses to collapse, damaging household items and the asbestos roofs. Fortunately, the 10 people inside the houses at the time sustained only minor injuries. Local residents quickly arrived to assist the affected families in retrieving their belongings.

The tanker driver, who suffered serious injuries and lost consciousness, was transported to the Muniguda community health centre for medical attention. Authorities from the Muniguda police department arrived to investigate the incident. While the exact cause of the accident remains undetermined, police are considering brake failure or driver fatigue as possible factors.
