Bhubaneswar: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, held a Block Level Felicitation Programme under Mission ABHIPSA at KG Girls High School, Samasingha, honoring 157 high-achieving students from government schools in the district for their performance in the annual board examinations.
The event was attended by over 200 individuals, including students, parents, teachers, and community members, along with Dr. Radhakanta Gartia, District Education Officer, Jharsuguda; Prakash Sahu, Block Education Officer, Kolabira; Anil Patel, Block Education Officer, and company management.
In collaboration with the district administration, Mission ABHIPSA aims to enhance academic outcomes for students in government schools through targeted mentoring, academic support, and regular assessments. The initiative is designed to help students excel in board examinations, close learning gaps, and build confidence for pursuing higher education and career opportunities.
During the event, C Chandru, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, Jharsuguda, remarked, “Education is one of the most powerful enablers of social transformation. Through Mission ABHIPSA, we are working to bridge learning gaps and enable students to reach their potential. These achievements reflect the impact of sustained support and the collective efforts of educators, parents, and communities. We remain committed to developing the next generation for Odisha and beyond.”
Ananya Pradhan, an A1-grade achiever from Samasingha Block, expressed her gratitude, stating, “The guidance and motivation provided through Mission ABHIPSA helped me stay focused and confident throughout my preparation. Being recognized today has encouraged me to dream bigger and work harder towards my goals.”
In FY26, Vedanta Aluminium’s education-focused initiatives reached over 15,000 students, supported by programs like Vidyagraha, which engaged over 11,000 student registrations across 106 schools, along with efforts in computer literacy, infrastructure support, career counseling, and teacher capacity building.
Mission ABHIPSA is a vital component of this strategy, offering structured academic support, mentoring, and regular assessments to enhance learning levels and improve board examination results. Additionally, initiatives like the VeDakshata Skill Centre further equip youth with industry-relevant skills, creating a seamless transition from education to employability and strengthening long-term socio-economic outcomes in Jharsuguda.
Vedanta Aluminium continues to promote community development in its operational areas through a comprehensive range of initiatives in education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, and rural infrastructure, in close collaboration with local authorities to ensure meaningful and lasting impact.
