Odisha Government Greenlights 24 Industrial Projects Valued at Rs 3,793 Crore

The Odisha government approved 24 investment proposals worth Rs 3,793.33 crore across 14 districts on Saturday, with the projects expected to generate nearly 20,000 jobs.

The proposals were cleared at the 147th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg.

The SLSWCA cleared projects in employment-intensive sectors such as manufacturing, textiles and apparel, clean energy, advanced materials, tourism and logistics across Khurda, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balangir, Puri, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj.

The textiles and apparel sector emerged as the biggest employment generator amongst the approved projects.

Nandraj Textiles Private Limited will establish an apparel manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs 168.64 crore, generating 10,306 jobs, making it the largest employment-generating project approved in this clearance.

Shahi Exports Private Limited will set up a knitted garments unit in Sambalpur with an investment of Rs 145.50 crore and 1,840 jobs, whilst Maa Taratarini Textile Park Private Limited will develop an integrated textile project in Ganjam for Rs 70 crore and 350 jobs.

Clean energy and advanced manufacturing gained significant traction with major approvals. CESC Green Power Limited will establish a Battery Energy Storage Systems facility in Dhenkanal with an investment of Rs 683.83 crore, generating 153 jobs.

AVP Star Private Limited will establish a lab-grown diamond manufacturing facility in Khurda with an investment of Rs 500 crore, generating 500 employment opportunities.

The tourism and hospitality sector received a major boost with several premium projects. Swosti Premium Limited will build a five-star resort in Koraput with a Rs 250 crore investment and 480 jobs.

Additional approvals include eco-resorts, water amusement parks and hotels across Koraput, Puri, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj districts.

In the industrial manufacturing sector, JSW Severfields Structures Limited will establish a steel fabrication unit in Jajpur with an investment of Rs 215 crore, generating 1,400 jobs.

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited will expand its aerated drinks facility in Khordha with a Rs 300 crore investment and 990 jobs, whilst Lithros Batteries India Private Limited secured approval for a Rs 60 crore investment for manufacturing electric vehicles, batteries and inverters in Khurda.
