Political Tensions Rise Over Cardiac Care Hospital in Jharsuguda

The BJP MLA stated that the hospital was inaugurated in 2024, but criticized it for lacking sufficient doctors, equipment, and operational arrangements.

JHARSUGUDA: The launch of inpatient services at BMRC Cardiac Care Hospital in Jharsuguda has triggered a political clash between the BJP and BJD, with both parties asserting their role in the project’s success.

Following the inauguration of the hospital’s inpatient department (IPD) services on Friday, former Jharsuguda MLA of BJD Deepali Das criticized BJP legislator Tankadhar Tripathy, accusing the BJP of rebranding existing projects instead of recognizing the previous government’s contributions.

Deepali, on Saturday, presented a series of official correspondences authored by her father and former minister Naba Kishore Das, stating, “The BMRC Cardiac Care Hospital is not a project that appeared overnight. The process began in 2013, the foundation stone was laid in 2015, and the hospital was formally inaugurated in 2024.”

She also showcased photographs and documents related to the hospital’s inauguration in February 2024, claiming that the project had been officially launched before the BJP government took office. “Instead of claiming credit for the work that was already completed, the BJP MLA should concentrate on delivering new development for Jharsuguda. His repeated attempts to mislead the public are damaging the image of the government and the BJP. The Chief Minister should take serious note of it,” Deepali stated.
