Rourkela: President Droupadi Murmu will embark on her first day-long visit to the steel city of Rourkela in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday, where she is scheduled to inaugurate a planetarium and a tribal museum, according to an official statement.
Additionally, she will unveil the Nirmal Munda Parivesh Path, named in honor of a tribal leader, during a public event.
As per the President’s schedule, she is expected to arrive at Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Jharsuguda at approximately 10:25 am and will then travel to Rourkela by helicopter.
Officials have confirmed that extensive security measures have been implemented in both Rourkela and Jharsuguda, with increased vigilance at Sector 13, the site of her public meeting, and along the routes for her convoy.
Senior police officials have conducted reviews of the security protocols.
In preparation for the President’s visit, the Jharsuguda administration has established a ‘no-fly zone’ and ‘no-drone zone’ across the entire district.
Union Tribal Affairs Minister and Sundargarh MP Jual Oram remarked that the President’s inaugural visit to the steel city will significantly enhance the region’s development.
