Odisha Approves 18 New Projects Worth Rs 3,877 Crore, Boosting Employment in Steel, Pharma, Logistics, and Tourism

The Odisha government has approved 18 new industrial and infrastructure projects with a total investment of Rs 3,877.14 crore, anticipated to generate more than 7,500 jobs in several sectors.

The approvals were made during the 146th meeting of the State-Level Single Window Clearance Authority, chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. These projects will be distributed across 11 districts, including Balasore, Jharsuguda, Khurda, and Sundargarh, indicating a significant effort to decentralize industrial growth.

Notably, Runaya Eckart Aluminium Powders Private Limited will establish an aluminium downstream facility in Jharsuguda with an investment of Rs 300 crore. In the metals sector, expansions by Scan Steels Limited, Jay Jagannath Steel and Power Limited, and SS Alufoils International Limited will collectively attract investments exceeding Rs 1,500 crore, resulting in the creation of over 2,200 jobs.

Furthermore, Solar Industries India Limited intends to set up an explosives manufacturing unit in Jharsuguda, while EnvairElectrodyne Limited will invest in an electronics manufacturing unit in Khurda. The healthcare sector will also benefit from new investments, with Harman Finochem Limited proposing a pharmaceutical unit in Gopalpur and Ambitech Healthcare Private Limited planning to establish a medical equipment facility in Khurda.

Logistics and infrastructure projects by Tamil Nadu Ispat Private Limited and Alps Mining and Infra Projects Private Limited have also received approval, along with a shipbuilding initiative in Balasore. Additionally, six hospitality projects across districts such as Puri, Koraput, and Sambalpur will further enhance the state’s tourism sector.
