Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain may continue in Odisha for four days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.
A warning has been issued for one or two locations in the districts of Baleshwar, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, and Koraput on June 24. Similar warnings are in place for Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri on June 25, and for Nuapada, Balangir, and Kalahandi on June 26. On June 27, warnings apply to Malkangiri and Koraput.
The state may also experience intense thunderstorm activity over the next two days.
On June 24, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds (50-60 kmph) are expected in one or two places within the districts of Baleshwar, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri. Similar weather conditions with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph are anticipated in Baleshwar, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Balangir, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, and Koraput. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds (30-40 kmph) may also occur in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Sundargada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
On June 25, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds (50-60 kmph) are likely in one or two locations in the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri. Similar conditions with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph are also expected in these districts. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds (30-40 kmph) may occur in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Sundargada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagarh.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds (30-40 kmph) may continue in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Sundargarh, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonpur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagarh on June 26, and in Sonpur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri on June 27.
