Hot and Humid Weather Expected in Coastal Odisha; Temperature to Decrease After Three Days

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding hot and humid conditions in several coastal districts of Odisha until April 4 amid ongoing thunderstorm activity.

According to the midday bulletin, such conditions may be observed in one or two locations within the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur during this timeframe. The bulletin further indicated that the day temperature is not likely to change significantly over the next three days, but a decrease of 2-4 degrees is anticipated across the state thereafter.

A yellow warning for thunderstorm activity during the afternoon and evening hours has also been issued for various districts until April 6.

Thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h, are expected in Koraput, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Balangir, and Bargarh districts on April 2; in Malkangiri and Koraput on April 3; and in Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur on April 4.

On April 5, thunderstorms may occur in Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, and Balangir; and on April 6, in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Koraput, and Malkangiri.

Additionally, isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 km/h) may occur on April 5 in Koraput, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh, and on April 6 in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
