Bhubaneswar: Coastal Odisha continued to experience severe discomfort on Wednesday as a result of very high humidity levels.
According to the humidity report recorded at 11:30 am today, several coastal areas faced extremely high moisture in the air, leading to unbearable stuffiness. Gopalpur recorded the highest humidity at 79.1%, followed by Puri at 74.2% and Paradeep at 72.8%.
Cities like Bhubaneswar and Balasore reported moderate levels, with Bhubaneswar at 61.6% humidity, Balasore at 64.3%, and Chandbali at 63.3%, while Rourkela was at 51%.
In contrast, the western and northern regions of the state saw much lower humidity levels. Jharsuguda recorded the lowest at just 30.1%, with Keonjhar, Hirakud, and Sambalpur also remaining relatively comfortable with humidity below 50%.
The high humidity has caused significant discomfort among residents, many of whom reported excessive sweating and uneasiness even during the morning hours.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised individuals to stay hydrated, consume plenty of fluids, and take necessary precautions to cope with the humid conditions.
