Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued a nowcast yellow warning at 4.00 PM, alerting residents about the likelihood of light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning activity in several districts of Odisha within the next three hours.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the districts expected to be impacted include Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Angul, Deogarh, Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh.
The weather office has predicted gusty surface winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph, along with potential lightning strikes in one or two locations within these districts.
Authorities have urged residents to stay vigilant, monitor rapidly changing weather conditions, and be ready to relocate to safer areas if necessary to mitigate lightning-related hazards.
The yellow alert serves as a reminder for awareness and precaution, particularly for individuals involved in outdoor activities.
