Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange warning for several districts of Odisha for today, Friday. The warning pertains to thunderstorms in Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, and Sambalpur districts.
The weather forecast indicates that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hail, and strong winds of 50-60 kmph may occur in some areas of these districts.
Additionally, the Meteorological Department has predicted that rain with lightning is likely to affect some districts in South Odisha and Interior Odisha today.
On another note, the IMD has forecasted that temperatures will be higher than normal across most areas from March to May this year. Summer is expected to arrive earlier in the country, with an increase in the number of heat-wave days in some regions. However, temperatures may remain slightly below normal in certain areas of North-West and Central India. Night temperatures are also expected to rise in most regions, although they may stay normal or below normal in some parts of South India and elsewhere.
