The regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for Odisha and has announced yellow warnings for the next three days. According to the weather department, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds (with speeds reaching up to 40-50 km/h) are expected until 8:30 AM on April 1, starting tomorrow.
The IMD has provided day-wise warnings as follows:

- YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (up to 40-50 km/h) are likely at isolated locations in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, and Koraput.
- Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at one or two locations in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sundergarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal, while dry weather is expected in the remaining districts.
- Day 2 (Valid from 8:30 AM on March 26 to 8:30 AM on March 27):
- Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at one or two locations in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, and Koraput, with dry weather in the rest of the districts.
- Day 3 (Valid from 8:30 AM on March 27 to 8:30 AM on March 28):
- YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (up to 40-50 km/h) are expected at isolated places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
- Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at several locations in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Nabarangpur, and at one or two locations in the remaining districts.
