Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for hot and humid weather conditions in Odisha, which are expected to persist for seven days, until 8:30 AM on April 19. The weather department has provided day-wise warnings as follows:
Day 1 (Valid until 8:30 AM on April 13):
- YELLOW WARNING: Hot and humid conditions are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
- Dry weather is expected across all districts of Odisha.
Day 2 (Valid from 8:30 AM on April 13 to 8:30 AM on April 14):
- YELLOW WARNING: Hot and humid conditions are very likely to occur at isolated places in the same districts as Day 1.
- Dry weather is expected across all districts of Odisha.
Day 3 (Valid from 8:30 AM on April 14 to 8:30 AM on April 15):
- YELLOW WARNING: Heat wave conditions are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Bargarh and Balangir.
- Hot and humid conditions are expected in the same districts as previous days.
- Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are likely at one or two places in the districts of Rayagada, Ganjam, and Gajapati, while dry weather will prevail in the rest of Odisha.
Day 4 (Valid from 8:30 AM on April 15 to 8:30 AM on April 16):
- YELLOW WARNING: Heat wave conditions are very likely in the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur.
- Hot and humid conditions are expected in the same districts as previous days.
- Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are likely at one or two places in the districts of Rayagada, Ganjam, and Gajapati, while dry weather will prevail in the rest of Odisha.
Day 5 (Valid from 8:30 AM on April 16 to 8:30 AM on April 17):
- YELLOW WARNING: Heat wave conditions are very likely in the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur.
- Hot and humid conditions are expected in the same districts as previous days.
