Bhubaneswar: Severe thunderstorm activity may continue in Odisha until June 27, with no heavy rain warnings issued until June 29, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.
According to the midday bulletin, heavy rainfall could return to one or two locations in the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri on June 30, and may extend to Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamala, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Gajapati on July 1, with little change expected thereafter.
On June 25, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are likely to affect one or two areas in the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Baragada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada. Similar conditions with wind speeds of 30-40 kmph may also occur in Sundargada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Debagada, Sonpur, Boudh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
On June 26, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) may impact one or two locations in the districts of Sundargada, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Rayagada, and Gajapati. Similar weather with wind speeds of 30-40 kmph may persist in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Sonpur, Boudh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagarh.
On June 27, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) may continue in one or two areas of Sonpur, Boudh, Balangir, Kalahandi, and Kandhamala. Similar conditions with wind speeds of 30-40 kmph may also be observed in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Sonpur, Boudh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagarh.
