Jharsuguda Police Detain Two Individuals from Punjab for Creating Fake Instagram Profile of Minor

Jharsuguda Cyber Police have arrested two individuals from Punjab for allegedly creating a fake Instagram profile of a minor girl and posting obscene photographs and videos through that account.

The suspects have been identified as Birbal alias Birbal Kewat (21) and Prem Kumar Singh (40), both residents of Jalandhar, Punjab. Following a complaint, the cyber police initiated an investigation that led them to Punjab, where the suspects were apprehended.

According to police reports, the duo allegedly set up a fake Instagram account using the minor girl’s name to distribute objectionable content, resulting in harassment and distress for the victim.

The accused have been presented before a court, and further investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of their involvement and to identify any potential accomplices.

Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police Gundala Reddy Raghavendra stated that the district police are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of citizens on digital platforms and warned that strict measures would be taken against those involved in cyber crimes, especially those targeting women and children.

Authorities have urged citizens to report incidents of online harassment, identity theft, and misuse of social media accounts promptly to enable quick action.
