In a proactive effort to address the increasing prevalence of digital offenses and enhance investigative methods, the Jharsuguda Police hosted a two-day workshop on cyber security. The event saw participation from Jharsuguda SP Gundala Raghavendra Reddy, Additional SP Madhusikta Mishra, and other senior officials.
The workshop’s main goal was to modernize the local police force’s approach to digital threats and ensure that personnel are equipped with the latest technical skills necessary for law enforcement.
Ishan Sinha, a noted expert in cyber crime operations and technical intelligence with a focus on counter-terrorism, led the technical sessions. He provided intensive training to around 65 police personnel, including high-ranking officers, constables, and home guards. The curriculum centered on the intricacies of ‘cyber policing,’ highlighting the effective collection of digital evidence and the use of advanced technical intelligence to track and prevent cyber-enabled crimes.
Participants acquired essential insights into counter-terrorism strategies and the changing landscape of global cyber threats. This initiative represents a significant advancement for the Jharsuguda Police in narrowing the divide between traditional policing and contemporary digital investigation.
By equipping its officers with advanced tools and techniques, the department aims to deliver a strong and effective response to cyber-related issues, thereby ensuring enhanced security for the citizens of the district.
