Traveling by Train in April? Indian Railways Cancels 14 Major Trains, Full List Released

The Indian Railways has temporarily cancelled several trains operating on the Bilaspur-Raipur route under the South East Central Railway (SECR), which may cause inconvenience to passengers in multiple states.

The cancellations are a result of extensive maintenance and infrastructure upgrades on this route. Repair work is currently taking place at Gondia Railway Station, which includes platform renovations and track improvements, leading to the temporary closure of the main line. Additionally, new track-laying work is in progress in the Jharsuguda section, while yard modernisation is being conducted at Akaltara station. These projects have impacted train operations.

The effects will extend beyond Chhattisgarh, as passengers from Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi may also experience disruptions due to the cancellation of several key trains connecting these regions.

From April 5 to April 24, a total of 14 trains, comprising 10 express and 4 passenger trains, will be cancelled on various dates. Notable affected trains include the Shalimar-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express, Korba-Amritsar Chhattisgarh Express, Hazrat Nizamuddin-Raigarh Gondwana Express, Gyaneshwari Express, and Visakhapatnam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express.

Railways have advised passengers to verify their train status prior to travelling. This can be done through the NTES app or the official railway website to prevent last-minute inconveniences.
