Central Railway Launches Summer Special Trains from Mumbai to Howrah

Central Railway has introduced a special train service between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai) and Howrah Junction to address the surge in summer travel demand and alleviate the burden on passengers facing long waitlists. This initiative aims to ease travel pressures and offer a more comfortable and reliable option for thousands of travelers. The additional services will enhance the chances of securing confirmed tickets, making long-distance travel more convenient during the peak holiday season. Here are the details regarding train timings and schedules.

The special services will operate as train numbers 01145 and 01146 between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Howrah Junction, stopping at 17 stations along the route.

The LTT-Howrah Special (Train No. 01145) will depart from LTT at 20:15 hrs on April 14 and arrive at Howrah at 06:00 hrs on the third day. Conversely, the Howrah-LTT Special (Train No. 01146) will leave Howrah at 14:45 hrs on April 16 and reach LTT at 23:45 hrs the following day.

The train will stop at various stations, including Thane, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Akola, Badnera, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakaradharpur, Tatanagar, Kharagpur, and Santragachi in both directions.

These summer special trains will significantly benefit passengers during the busy travel season, providing them with a better chance of obtaining confirmed tickets as regular trains tend to be fully booked. The inclusion of numerous important stations makes it easier for travelers from different cities and towns to utilize this service. Ticket bookings for these services opened today, April 12, 2026, at all computerized reservation centers across the country. Reservations can also be made through the official website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), and bookings for unreserved coaches can be completed using the UTS system.
